E3 2021: Square Enix Presents

Square Enix Presents an E3 2021 showcase primarily focused on a new game by Deus Ex reboot developer Eidos Montréal. These are the most important announcements.

  • Eidos Montréal (Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided) revealed their upcoming story-driven action adventure Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Star Lord will be, indeed, starring in the second game which is part of the multi-game deal between Marvel and Square Enix. It’ll be released on October 26h, 2021 for PS5, PS4, XSX|S, Xbox One and PC erscheinen. Just like in Marvel’s Avengers filmlovers will dislike the fact that their prefered actors such as Zoe Saldana and Chris Pratt won’t lend their likeness to Gamora and Peter Quill. If you’re interested in this game, you should definitely check the extended gameplay parts in the showcase.
  • A new take on Final Fantasy: Team Ninja (Nioh 1+2) is currently working on Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy. The Warriors of Light seek to defeat Chaos aka Garland. The action RPG is scheduled to be released in 2022 for PS5, PS4, XSX|S, Xbox One and PC with a demo hitting the PlayStation Store soon.
  • Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster for PC via Steam and Mobile is made up of remakes of FF I- VI. No release date was given.
  • Wakanda forever: Marvel’s Avengers: War for Wakanda Expansion is set for a release this fall and lets you take the role of Black Panther.
  • A multitude of Android and iOS mobile games as well as updates to existing mobiles games were announced: Hitman Go developer Square Enix Montréal is working on the free-to-play title Hitman Sniper: The Shadows, Nier Reincarnation explores mobile devices as a first in the franchise, Final Fantasy Brave Exvius will be getting original FF characters and Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier aims to satisfy your Battle Royale needs.
  • Babylon’s Fall is a PS5, PS4 and PC (Steam) co-op action game for up to 4 players by PlatinumGames (Bayoneta 1+2, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance). A release date hasn’t been announced.
  • Life Is Strange: Remastered Collection will feature new animations and upgraded lip-sync. Fans and newcomers alike can play the remasters of LiS and LiS: Before the Storm from September 30th, 2020 on PS5, PS4, XSX|S, XB1 and Stadia.
  • In an extended gameplay video we witnessed how Alex’ special ability – reading people’s emotions – plays out in Life Is Strange: True Colors. The Deck Nine developed game is scheduled to be released on September 10th, 2021 for PS5, PS4, XSX|S, XB1 and Stadia.
