Star Wars Outlaws

We have already played the new adventure featuring outlaw Kay Vess at gamescom and have been playing a good chunk more of it in the meantime. Our initial impressions were positive and that hasn’t changed. While the version on the showfloor in Cologne ran on an Xbox Dev Kit, we’ve experienced minor technical problems such as reloading stutters and a lack of texture sharpness on PC. Those have now largely been eliminated through updates or the support of the community. We are particularly excited to see whether and how the loyalty system will play out, as we have already become acquainted with a handful of syndicates. The biggest point of criticism so far is that the stealth sections can get pretty frustrating. As soon as a stormtrooper spots you, the mission fails and the checkpoints are more or less far between. With today’s update, Ubisoft is said to have addressed these issues. Although we’ve already grown fond of the Axolotl-Like Nix, the story hasn’t really taken off midway through the game. In our upcoming review we’ll address all of the points mentioned above and check whether purchasing Star Wars Outlaws is worthwhile for fans of the space saga and those who might want to become one.
